THIS IS MULTICOLORED ITALIAN  MILLEFIORI VASE THAT STANDS 9 INCHES TALL WITH A 3 INCH OPENING. THE UNIQUE SHAPE OF THIS VASE STARTS IN A TRADITIONAL ROUND SHAPE AT THE BOTTOM AND TAPERS UP INTO AN ABSTRACT TRIANGULAR SHAPE AT THE TOP. THIS MILLEFIORI VASE ALSO FEATURES A SMOOTH PONTIL ON THE BOTTOM. THE VIVID COLORS IN THIS WORK OF ART ARE RED, WHITE, BLACK, NAVY AND BABY BLUE. THIS MILLEFIORI GLASS VASE IS POSSIBLY ITALIAN AND MADE BY THE INFAMOUS MURANO GLASS FACTORY. THE MILLEFIORI PATTERN ORIGINATES FROM ITALY AND TRANSLATES TO “THOUSAND FLOWERS”. THIS MILLEFIORI GLASS VASE WOULD BE THE PERFECT ADDITION TO A GLASS COLLECTORS INVENTORY. The term millefiori is a combination of the Italian words “mille” (thousand) and “fiori” (flowers). Apsley Pellatt in his book Curiosities of Glass Making was the first to use the term “millefiori”, which appeared in the Oxford English Dictionary in 1849. The beads were before then called mosaic beads. Insurance is not reflected in the shipping price and must be added according to purchase price and location at the time of sale.
